Bjoern Rabenstein 7d11019aa2 Squash a few trivial TODOs. 
- Delete unneeded file view_adapter.go.
- Assessed that we still need the fingerprints in nodes
  (to create iterators).
- Turned numMemChunkDescs into a metric.
