SND_DECLARE_FILE originally added lines to the output of /dev/sndstat listing the $FreeBSD$ strings for individual files, but only if the value of hw.snd.verbose was raised to 3. With the switch to Git these strings became meaningless as they were now all identical and no longer contained the path (which was implicitly included previously via the keyword expansion). This commit removes all of the infrastructure to support file version strings from /dev/sndstat, but preserves the KPI/KBI by turning the SND_DECLARE_FILE macro into a nop and changing the backing sysinit functions into null functions and is suitable for merging to stable/13. FreeBSD Source:
This is the top level of the FreeBSD source directory.
FreeBSD is an operating system used to power modern servers, desktops, and embedded platforms. A large community has continually developed it for more than thirty years. Its advanced networking, security, and storage features have made FreeBSD the platform of choice for many of the busiest web sites and most pervasive embedded networking and storage devices.

The Makefile in this directory supports a number of targets for building components (or all) of the FreeBSD source tree. See build(7), config(8), FreeBSD handbook on building userland, and Handbook for kernels for more information, including setting make(1) variables.
