HAProxy - Load balancer
As per lua documentation, lua_tostring() may raise a memory error. However, we're often using it to fetch the error message at the top of the stack (ie: after a failing lua call) from unprotected environments. In practise, lua_tostring() has rare chances of failing, but still, if it happens to be the case, it could crash the process and we better not risk it. So here, we add hlua_tostring_safe() function, which works exactly as lua_tostring(), but the function cannot LJMP as it will catch lua_tostring() exceptions to return NULL instead. Everywhere lua_tostring() was used to retrieve error string from such unprotected contexts, we now rely on hlua_tostring_safe(). This should be backported to all stable versions. [ada: ctx adj will be required, for versions prior to 2.8 event_hdl API didn't exist so some chunks won't apply, and prior to 2.5 filters API didn't exist either, so again, some chunks should be ignored] |

The HAProxy documentation has been split into a number of different files for ease of use. Please refer to the following files depending on what you're looking for : - INSTALL for instructions on how to build and install HAProxy - BRANCHES to understand the project's life cycle and what version to use - LICENSE for the project's license - CONTRIBUTING for the process to follow to submit contributions The more detailed documentation is located into the doc/ directory : - doc/intro.txt for a quick introduction on HAProxy - doc/configuration.txt for the configuration's reference manual - doc/lua.txt for the Lua's reference manual - doc/SPOE.txt for how to use the SPOE engine - doc/network-namespaces.txt for how to use network namespaces under Linux - doc/management.txt for the management guide - doc/regression-testing.txt for how to use the regression testing suite - doc/peers.txt for the peers protocol reference - doc/coding-style.txt for how to adopt HAProxy's coding style - doc/internals for developer-specific documentation (not all up to date)
